"I don't think we're testing enough," Damond Boatwright, SSM Health regional president, said during the recent Wisconsin Health News Hospital CEO Roundtable event. Boatwright explained that other countries who have good testing have been able to manage the pandemic more effectively. All seven of SSM Health hospitals now have the capacity to do about 1,000 tests per day as well as the ability to do rapid testing for symptomatic patients and pre-procedure patients. "While the state has done immense work...we now recognize the need that the testing demand is going up, and then coupled with asymptomatic patients when the need is there to do that. So, we may have to look beyond our current plans to find ways where we continue to be flexible and add more testing."
