LAUREL — To the start of the outdoor season for Kenosha’s HarborMarket, which has grown since its start in 2003 and can be counted on to grow during the summer season. Welcome back, favorite vendors and newcomers to Kenosha’s favorite Saturday stop from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
LAUREL — To today’s Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive of the National Letter Carriers, and to everyone who puts out food for your mail carrier. This year the food collected in Kenosha County will be distributed by local pantries — 1Hope, Salvation Army, Shalom Center and Sharing Center.
DART — To parents of KTEC West students who continue to ignore parking, stopping and standing rules when picking up and dropping off students at the school, 5710 32nd Ave. This has been an ongoing problem for years — one that city officials and police are well aware of — but residents say not much has changed as they find their driveways blocked by cars. We teach our kids to follow rules; what can’t the parents?
LAUREL — To Alfonso Terrazas, his son Alfonso III and his wife Maria of Kenosha for launching Breakthrough Ministries, a halfway house opening this month at the former home of Women and Children’s Horizons, 1630 56th St. They are calling it “a haven of hope for those who struggle with lifestyles and addictions.”
