Great article in the Kenosha News on April 26: “A different kind of signing day.”

The Carpenters Union has a great program, giving high school students the ability to work for a contractor while still in high school. This allows the student to see what the building trades do, and if they have the ability and desire to make a career in construction.

It also gives the contractor the knowledge if this individual has what it takes to do the hard work in construction.

Tyler Dabbs grandfather was William (Willy) Kovacs who was a carpenter superintendent with Riley Construction for many years. I know he was looking down that day smiling from heaven.

Congratulations to Tyler Dabbs and Nathan Vogue on becoming apprentices in the Carpenters Union, good luck.
