We have a president who has an army of followers who believe that his every word is “the gospel truth.” Some of his followers even believe he was sent by God to heal our nation.
He has even conned the leaders in the Evangelical community. If Billy Graham were alive, he and his son would have a real difference of opinion about where his son is taking the “flock.”
Donald Trump’s followers must believe his values are their values. So cheating, lying and making a mockery of our institutions, which seem to be the cornerstones of his administration, are OK with them, and they do nothing.
We have a system of checks and balances that have served this country well. We must keep these institutions intact and separate, they are intended to keep an authoritarian president from becoming king.
Making America great is more than having the world’s best economy. No, we are great because we have shown the world honesty in words and deeds, compassion and empathy for the oppressed, government by the rule of law and offers to help to those in need.
It is become more obvious than ever that the president will make every effort to stop any investigations by committees or courts and prohibit anyone from helping in any way the investigation into his finances or other nefarious deeds made by him or family members. This is corruption at its worst.
