The Tremper boys basketball team stormed back from a one-point halftime deficit to keep its season alive Tuesday night.
Tremper outscored Janesville Parker 47-32 in the second half of a 75-61 home victory in a WIAA Division-1 regional quarterfinal at Tremper.
The 15th-seeded Trojans will take on No. 2 seed Racine Park in a WIAA Division-1 regional semifinal at 7 p.m. Friday at Park.
Tremper relied on balanced scoring to oust Parker from the tournament. Jyon Young, Blake Hoffman and Jake Gross led the way with 16 points apiece. Trey Cardona added 12 points, followed by Zayshan Coleman with 10.
Tremar Curry hit six shots from the field and sparked the Vikings with a game-high 19 points.
The Trojans snapped a three-game losing streak and improved to 8-15 with the win. The Vikings ended their season with a 4-19 record.
St. Francis 74, Shoreland Lutheran 62
The 10th-seeded and visiting Pacers made a second-half charge, but it wasn’t enough to overtake the 37-20 halftime lead built by seventh-seeded St. Francis in a regional quarterfinal.
Sophomore Quentin Bolton led Shoreland, which outscored St. Francis 42-37 in the second half, with 21 points. Brandon Freitag and Josh Edmundson each scored 15, while Sawyer Smith chipped in nine.
Jordan Mack poured in a game-high 25 points to pace St. Francis, which improved to 14-9 and will play at second-seeded Racine St. Catherine’s in a regional semifinal Friday night.
The Pacers finished their season 6-17.
Shoreland coach Paul Strutz, however, said he’s excited about the progress made by a team that featured a number of sophomores and juniors. He also wanted to thank his four seniors, Charlie Riley, Andrew Koestler, Sam Olson and Jordan Teska.
“I loved working with the kids,” Strutz said. “Really enjoyed them.”
Lake Mills 104, Reuther 41
The 12th-seeded and visiting Bulldogs were done in by an offensive deluge from fifth-seeded Lake Mills, which made 36 field goals — including eight 3-pointers — in a regional quarterfinal.
Reuther made nine 3s but hit just five shots from two-point range.
Xavier Brzozowski made six of the Bulldogs’ 3s en route to a game-high 20 points, while Kaden Gayheart made two shots from behind the arc and scored eight points.
Grant Horkan led Lake Mills (18-5) with 17 points. The L-Cats had five players score in double figures.
Lake Mills advances to play at fourth-seeded Lakeside Lutheran in a regional semifinal Friday night, while Reuther finished its season 9-13.
St. Joseph 62, Destiny 46
Tim Berry paced the host Lancers with 20 points, as they moved into Friday night’s 7 p.m. regional semifinal at second-seeded Racine Prairie.
Joey Feudner added 10 points for seventh-seeded St. Joseph (8-15), followed by Caden Tolefree with nine. Matt Schulte and Andrew Alia each chipped in with six.
HOPE Christian 88, Christian Life 42
The visiting Eagles fell behind, 56-14, at halftime and couldn’t recover to end their season at 1-22.
