Tremper (4-4, 2-4 SEC) vs. Franklin (8-0, 6-0 SEC)

When: 7 tonight

Where: Ameche Field

Series note: Franklin has owned this rivalry over the last decade, winning nine straight since the Trojans’ 21-10 victory in Week 5 of the 2008 season. ... Of course, the Sabers have owned all Kenosha County teams in recent years, winning 25 straight against county opponents.

Player to watch: Tremper senior Vinnie Watring has been a jack-of-all trades for the Trojans, accumulating 181 rushing yards, 264 receiving yards, seven total TDs and an INT. ... “He’s been consistently our best all-around player all year,” Tremper coach Jared McGranahan said. “He’s a leader on the field and in the classroom.”

Key stat: The Sabers are remarkably balanced on offense with 1,203 rushing yards on 234 attempts and 1,372 passing yards on 187 attempts.

FYI: Franklin, ranked No. 5 in Division-1 in the latest WisSports.net state coaches poll, has reached the Division-1 state quarterfinals five years in a row and would secure the outright SEC title with a win tonight. ... To have any chance of making the playoffs for the first time since 2010, Tremper needs to spring the upset and get help from around the state.
