The Indian Trail girls swim team got its 2019 season off to a strong start at Saturday’s Racine Park Panther Relays.
Indian Trail picked up three first-place finishes and was second overall in the team standings with 302 points, behind only Racine Case’s 310. Tremper and Racine Horlick tied for third with 230 points, while Bradford was fifth with 206.
Racine Park was sixth with 160, followed by PSC Aquatics with 134.
Finishing first for the Hawks were the 300-yard freestyle relay team of Suzel Gonzalez, Nora Krystowiak, Lauren Kyriazes and Emma Conran (3:08.96); the 1-meter diving team (no names listed) with 337.55 points; and the 200-freestyle team of Abby Giese, Kyriazes, Bella Wulterkens and Mia Walker (1:51.33).
Placing second for Indian Trail were the 200-backstroke relay team of Wulterkens, Conran, Nicole Bergendahl and Mia Walker (2:06.63); the 200-medley relay team of Wulterkens, June Ma, Mia Walker and Giese (2:08.35); the 200-breaststroke team of Ma, Abby Herrick, Brooke Sheredy and Giese (2:36.73); and the 100-medley team of Bergendahl, Abby Herrick, Jazlynn Gonzalez and Suzel Gonzalez (1:05.91).
Tremper’s 400-freestyle team of Ava Bilotti, Morgan Smith, Brooke Adamczyk and Amanda Kerman was first (4:15.73).
Finishing second for Bradford were the 400-individual medley team of Sydney Block, Sophia Prondzinski, Claire Knecht and Maya Herzog (4:56.53) and the 200-freestyle team of Block, Prondzinski, Knecht and Herzog (1:55.11).
