The Kenosha Small Fry basketball team advanced to the semifinals of the 51st annual International Small Fry Tournament at Disney’s Wide World of Sports in Kissimmee, Fla., with a pair of victories Tuesday.
Kenosha defeated Caguas Libac of Puerto Rico, 67-32, in the round of 16 before overcoming a 17-10 halftime deficit to knock off Bucaplaa of Puerto Rico, 42-30, in the quarterfinals.
Kenosha will face Marquette Best of Chicago at 11:30 a.m. today in the semifinals. The game can be viewed live on Facebook at Small Fry Basketball.
This is Kenosha’s fourth consecutive trip to the International Final Four, including the program’s first title in 2017.
Against Caguas on Tuesday, Kenosha was led by Nick Virre’s 22 points and Levontay Lowery’s eight. Against Bucaplaa, Elijah Griffin scored 13 points for Kenosha, while Tommy Santarelli added eight.
Other team members are Quinn Burns, Eric Kenesie, Lamont Hamilton, Kole Janis, Dominic Santarelli, Juan Rodriguez, Maddie Haubrich and William Phillips.
The team is coached by Jenny Kenesie, Kenny Griffin, Steve Milkie and Matt Knight.
