Travis Engle lines up a putt during last year's final round of the Men's County Open. Engle, who's trying for his third consecutive title, fired a 6-under-par 66 in Saturday's second round of the 67th annual event at the Brighton Dale Links Blue Spruce Course. Engle holds a six-stroke lead over Justin Weir going into Sunday's final round at Brighton Dale's White Birch Course. The round begins with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.

The 67th annual Men's County Open is shaping up for an exciting final two rounds Saturday and Sunday at Brighton Dale Links.

Recent Central standout Zach Kramer fired a 69 in Friday's first round at The Club at Strawberry Creek to take a three-stroke lead, but a bunch of players are right on Kramer's heels.

Namely, two-time defending champion Travis Engle.

Engle carded a 72 Friday in pursuit of his third consecutive County Open title and his fifth in 12 years. He'll tee off with Kramer on the first hole of Brighton Dale's Blue Spruce Course when the second round begins at 8 a.m. Saturday with a shotgun start.

Playing with Kramer and Engle will be Daniel DePrey, who's four shots off the lead after a first-round 73.

Zach Strasser, a recent Wilmot standout, is alone in third after a 74. Kevin Wall — last year's runner-up — is tied for fifth with Nate Hart at 75, while Daniel Mueller and Ben Putka are another two strokes back at 77.

Jim Anderson, the defending A Flight champion, shot an 81.

Patrick Mayew carded an 83 but provided the day's biggest highlight with a hole-in-one on the 229-yard, par-3 15th hole.

After Saturday's second round, players will be separated into flights for Sunday's final round, which will be at Brighton Dale's White Birch Course and begin with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
