A summer tradition will take place at the Kenosha Sports Complex today.

And, like last year, it’ll feature a twist in the format.

The 67th annual Little Leaguers of Kenosha 12-Year-Old All-Star Game will start at approximately 5 p.m. And, like last year, the 36 players involved won’t know which team they’ll be on until the game starts.

The All-Stars will be drafted onto either the American League or National League team by the captains and managers. The American League team will be managed by John Boyle, and his captain is Jack LaBuda. The National League will be managed by Jason Wells, with Vince Gerou as his captain.

The day’s festivities will honor all 12-year-olds, with a skills competition of running, throwing, hitting and pitching to begin at 1:30 p.m.

The pre-game activities will begin at 4 p.m., with the game to follow. A home run derby will be held during the game, as well.

Additionally, a special guest will throw out the first pitch.

Trae Waynes, a cornerback for the Minnesota Vikings who attended Harborside Academy and starred on the gridiron for Bradford, will get the honors. Waynes is a former Little Leaguer.
