Home runs lift Fish past Rafters
Tremper graduate Mitchell Buban hit a two-run home run in the first inning, followed by a solo shot by Drew Dyer in the second to lift the Kenosha Kingfish to a 3-2 win Friday night at Wisconsin Rapids.
The game was shortened to five innings because of rain.
Buban also made a diving stop at second base in the fifth inning to end a Rafters’ threat. Wisconsin Rapids had cut the deficit to just a run before Buban’s play.
Earning the win for Kenosha (5-10 second half) was Caleb Larson, who allowed two runs, four hits and struck out four. The win was the first for Larson.
The Kingfish host Kalamazoo today at 1:05 p.m. at Simmons Field.
