Nine girls selected to All-MCC soccer

Nine girls from St. Joseph and Shoreland Lutheran landed on All-Metro Classic Conference girls soccer teams this week.

Voted to the first team from Shoreland were senior goalie Kayla Pagel, senior defender Abby Krause and junior midfielder Lauren Heathcock. St. Joseph first-team picks were junior defender Josephine Knight, junior midfielder Elizabeth Alia and freshman forward Marti Harrington.

Shoreland senior midfielder Lauren Adams and senior forward Aminah Diagne were second-team picks, along with St. Joseph junior goalkeeper Ellie Mandli.

Racine Prairie junior Andrea Palmen, a Kenosha resident, was a second-team pick as a defender.

Romo to hold annual camp in Burlington

Tony Romo will hold his annual football camp at Burlington High School’s Don Dalton Stadium on June 27.

The camp is for kids entering grades 3-5. It’s free and runs from 1 to 3 p.m., with registration scheduled for 12:15 p.m. Campers are asked to register in advance, as space is limited. The camp includes a T-shirt.

Romo starred at Burlington before spending a 14-year NFL career at quarterback with the Dallas Cowboys. He made the Pro Bowl four times and holds numerous Cowboys passing records.
