It took a little time for the Bradford girls soccer team to get rolling Saturday afternoon.

But once the Red Devils hit their stride, they were firmly in control.

Bradford scored three first-half goals in a little more than 20 minutes and added another in the second half, en route to a 4-0 non-conference victory over visiting Madison East.

The Red Devils, ranked eighth in Division-1 by, improved to 7-1.

“Today, we faced an aggressive Madison East, who was tough physically,” Bradford coach David Naylor said. “Early, it took us a bit to match their aggression, but when we became more physical, we really took over the game.”

Kate Brown scored first for the Red Devils and closed the day with her third hat trick in four games, including two penalty kicks. Mia Prince added Bradford’s other goal, while Bridgette Covelli and Katherine Feick each had an assist.

Bradford goalie Tayana Bell recorded her fourth shutout and has allowed just four goals in seven games.

Tremper 8, St. Catherine’s 0

The Trojans broken open a close first half with a six-goal explosion in the second half to win the consolation title in the Scott Procknow Memorial Tournament at Ameche Field.

Haley Leadingham and Lauren McKeon each had two goals for the Trojans, while Kassidy Hodge, Brooke Clements, Mikayla Crane and Spencer Acker each had one.

“Our first half reminded me a lot of how our season has gone,” Tremper coach Todd Hardy said. “ We were able to create a lot of opportunities but couldn’t quite finish. We did capitalize on two of the chances, but we left the field feeling we were close to breaking through at the half.”

Waupun Tournament

Central posted a 2-0-1 record, as the Falcons defeated Gwendolyn Brooks College Prep (Ill.), 8-0, and Belivdere North, 4-2.

Caroline Hill led the scoring onslaught in the 8-0 win with five goals, while Megan Zeller had three. Sophie Hull and Kaitlyn Hill each had two assists, followed by Zeller, Sara Parker, Brenda Torales and Ashley Miller each with one.

In the win over Belvidere, Mackenize Fricke, Miller, Kelsey Gross and Zeller each had a goal, while Hill had a team-high two assists and Kaitlyn Hill had one.

Racine Case Invite

Central finished 3-0 with a 6-1 win over Racine Case, a 7-0 win over Racine Park and a 5-2 win over Bradford.

Picking up victories against Bradford were Cooper Ferruzzi at No.1 singles, 6-0, 6-2 over Zach Kozmer; Levi Hardesty at No. 2, 6-1, 6-2 over Kameron Soomro; Austin Dority at No. 3, 6-1, 6-0 over Paul Promnitz; Bobby Bullard at No. 4, by forfeit; and Tyler Yee and Evan Beth at No. 3, 6-1, 6-3 over Tim Leet and Evan Engel.

Bradford victories came from Pedro Franco and Kunaal Bhatt at No. 1 doubles, 7-5, 6-0 over Mason Yee and Garrett Reynolds, and Isaac and Elliott Sens at No. 2, 6-7 (2), 6-2, 10-8 over Jack Weis and Colton Soto.

Ferruzzi, Hardesty, Dority and Bullard each went 2-0 against Park and Case, while the teams of Soto and Weis at Beth and Yee at were 1-0.

The rest of the Bradford results were not provided to the News by deadline.
