The road to Goodman Diamond on the UW-Madison campus begins Tuesday for six of the county’s eight softball teams.

In Division-1, third-seeded Tremper (14-7) will host 14th-seeded Milwaukee Bay View (record unavailable), while fifth-seeded Indian Trail (15-7) hosts 12th-seeded Racine Horlick (2-14). Both games begin at 4:30 p.m.

The winner of Tremper-Bay View advances to a regional final Thursday against either sixth-seeded Muskego (12-12) or 11th-seeded Milwaukee Ronald Reagan (14-1).

Top-seeded Oak Creek (19-7) and second-seeded Bradford (20-6) each received a first-round bye. Bradford hosts the winner of seventh-seeded Union Grove (11-14) and 10th-seeded Racine Case (6-10) on Thursday.

Also in Division-1, Central (16-10) received the third seed in its sectional bracket and hosts 14th-seeded Madison La Follette (2-17) on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. Wilmot (14-9) is seeded sixth and hosts 11th-seeded Fort Atkinson (7-14).

The winners face each other in the regional final Thursday.

Elkhorn (17-4) and Milton (19-6) are the top two seeds in that sectional. Elkhorn was ranked sixth in last week’s WisSports.net poll.

Division-3

Shoreland Lutheran drew the top seed, while St. Joseph drew the third seed.

The Pacers (15-6) open regional play Tuesday against eighth-seeded Living Word Lutheran (8-4) at 4:30 p.m. The winner faces either fourth-seeded Racine St. Catherine’s (11-9) or fifth-seeded Lake Country Lutheran (8-9) on Thursday.

St. Joseph (8-7) hosts sixth-seeded Whitefish Bay Dominican (6-13) in a game set for Tuesday at UW-Parkside.

The winner faces second-seeded Random Lake (12-5) or seventh-seeded Oostburg (5-14) on Thursday.

In Division-4, 10th-seeded Christian Life fell in a first-round matchup last Thursday to seventh-seeded Waterloo.

The State Tournament will be held June 6-9 in Madison.
