A big second half helped the Wilmot girls basketball team pull away for a 76-66 victory over visiting Johnsburg (Ill.) in a non-conference game Saturday.
The Panthers led by only two points at halftime, but they outscored Johnsburg 42-34 in the final 18 minutes.
Haley Lamberson sparked Wilmot with 20 points, followed by Delaney Brown with 18 points and Julia Hickey with 11.
St. Thomas More 74, Shoreland Lutheran 61
The visiting Pacers were done in by a 19-0 Thomas More run that spanned the end of the first half and the beginning of the second in a Metro Classic Conference game.
Shoreland (3-7, 1-7 Metro Classic) drained nine 3-pointers in the opening half and built a 37-27 lead with about 4 minutes to go before halftime, but Thomas More (5-7, 1-6) ended the half on a 14-0 run to take a 41-37 halftime lead and scored another five straight points out of halftime.
Josh Edmundson scored 13 points to lead the Pacers, Quentin Bolton scored 11 and Nathan Lahti added 10.
St. Francis 79, Christian Life 40
Austin Eifert scored 14 points for the visiting Eagles, but it wasn’t enough to avoid the Midwes Classic Conference setback.
Joseph Ianni added seven points for Christian Life (0-12, 0-7).
