Prep football roundup: County teams wrap up their seasons

Junior quarterback Ryan McGonegle had a huge game for the Trojans, finishing 23-of-48 for 298 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions, but the Rebels emerged with a 41-32 victory in a high-scoring Southeast Conference game at Horlick Field.

Tremper finished its season 2-7 overall and 1-6 in the SEC, while Horlick finished 3-6 and 2-5.

Tremper senior Justin Dierckens capped his high school career by catching six passes for 145 yards and three touchdowns — he also added a touchdown pass — while junior Tyler Santi had six catches for 118 yards and a score and junior Raymone Jones grabbed a game-high 10 catches for 97 yards and a touchdown.

Horlick rushed for 365 yards, led by Allieas Williams (31 carries, 183 yards, two TDs).

The Trojans outscored the Rebels 19-16 in a wild fourth quarter, but it wasn’t quite enough.

The Pacers dropped their season finale in a Metro Classic Conference road game in Milwaukee.

Shoreland finished 2-7 overall and 1-6 in the Metro Classic, while Whitefish Bay Dominican finished 3-6 and 2-5.

Both teams had already been eliminated from postseason contention.

The visiting Eagles wrapped up their first season as a varsity program since 2015 with a non-conference road defeat.

After winning its first two games of the season, CLS dropped seven straight to end its 2019 campaign with a 2-7 mark.

De Soto, a member of the Ridge and Valley Conference, ended its regular season at 7-2 and is in the WIAA playoff field for the 24th straight season, this year in the Division-7 field.
