Greendale Martin Luther (5-1, 3-1 Metro Classic) at St. Joseph (5-1, 3-1 Metro Classic)

When: 7 tonight

Where: Jaskwhich Stadium (6800 60th St.)

Series note: The Spartans have won three straight meetings and have not allowed a point in the last two, including a 55-0 home win in Week 7 last season and a 27-0 victory in 2017. … The Lancers notched a 38-30 home victory in Week 8 of the 2015 season.

Player to watch: St. Joseph tight end Luke Schuler may have modest stats (five catches, 42 yards, two TDs), but the 6-2, 175-pound freshman has been a big part of the Lancers' offense. ... "Luke has done a great job all year at contributing as a run blocker and pass catcher," St. Joseph coach Matt Rizzo said. "He doesn't have a ton of stats to show for the good work that he does each game. But he's been a solid contributor in our run game as a blocker, and he really is a big target that we have tried to get the ball throughout each game. We have asked a lot of him only being a freshman, but we have done that because we know he can do it."

Key stat: Martin Luther junior quarterback Brady Hoppert has had a fantastic season through the air. Hoppert ranks 19th in the state with 1,241 passing yards, according to WisSports.net, and has completed 66.2 percent of his passes for 16 TDs and three INTs. … The Lancers, however, have surrendered just 36.2 passing yards per game this season and have recorded seven INTs.

FYI: The Lancers and Spartans entered Week 7 in a three-way with St. Catherine's for second place in the conference behind Racine Lutheran, pending St. Catherine's late Thursday night result against Shoreland Lutheran. … Martin Luther, ranked fourth in Division-4 in the latest WisSports.net state coaches poll, has won five postseason games between Division-4 and Division-5 over the last two seasons. … With a victory, the Lancers would secure their first playoff berth since making it three years in a row from 2015-17.
