Rotary softball tournament heads to final day

The finals are set in two of the divisions in the 47th annual Rotary Club of Kenosha West Softball Tournament.

In the Women’s Division, two-time defending champion Squirrels needs a victory today at noon over CD/DVD Games at Lincoln Park 4 to advance to face Girlmatose in the title tilt at 2:30 p.m.at Lincoln 1.

If either Squirrels or CD/DVD Games beats Girlmatose at 2:30, a second title game will follow at 3:30 p.m.

Girlmatose punched its ticket to the final Saturday with a 6-4 win over CD/DVD Games and a 12-0 win over Squirrels.

CD/DVD Games stayed alive with a 10-8 win over Spanky’s, which had advanced with a 12-4 win over Burlington Beavers.

In the Co-Ed Division, Union Park Tavern awaits the winner of Erickson’s Hot Shots and Shenanigans that will be played today at 11 a.m. at Lincoln 2.

The title matchup is set for Lincoln 1 at 3:30 p.m.

Union Park Tavern earned its berth in the final with an 8-6 win over Erickson’s, while Shenanigans stayed alive with a 16-15 win over Spanky’s M.S.G.A.

Action in the men’s bracket didn’t conclude Saturday by deadline.

Tirabassi, which won the title last summer under the name Blue and the Brothers, was set to face Monstars/Teezers/Coasters in one winner’s bracket game, while Shenanigans/Dunn Sports/WTP was scheduled to play EVO/Sunnyside in the other.

Three teams remained in the loser’s bracket. Scores CCS and Alia, DuMez and McTernan Law were scheduled to play, while Sunnyside stayed alive with a 17-12 win over Coins—Lost Boys.

The final winner’s bracket game before the final is set for 10 a.m. at Lincoln 1. The first of two possible championship matchups will be played at 5:30, also at Lincoln 1.

In the Men’s Hometown Classic Division, Spanky’s Chicks faces Swede’s at Lincoln 1, while Misfits plays ECI at Lincoln 2, both at 9 a.m. The winners play at Lincoln 1 at 11 a.m.
