Shoreland Lutheran (2-6, 1-5 Metro Classic) at Whitefish Bay Dominican (2-6, 1-5 Metro Classic)
When: 7 tonight
Where: Whitefish Bay High School (1200 E. Fairmount Ave., Milwaukee)
Series note: The Knights have won three straight, including a 33-27 Week 9 victory in Somers last year in which they overcame a 14-12 halftime deficit. … The Pacers’ last series victory was a dominating 50-8 decision in Week 4 of the 2015 season in Milwaukee. Shoreland advanced all the way to the WIAA Division-5 state semifinals that year.
Player to watch: Shoreland junior Konnor Hill (5-9, 140 pounds) is an explosive athlete who can do damage from anywhere on the field. He has 226 rushing yards and 285 receiving yards — both team highs — leads the team with nine total TDs and also has a team-high three INTs. … “(He) lines up just about anywhere for us,” Shoreland coach Paul Huebner said. “Fastest guy on the team and a threat to score whenever he touches the ball. He has also emerged as one of our strongest leaders this year. A pleasure to have in class, Konnor is also a member of our student council and serves our entire student body well. Dominican has some very athletic players, especially on the perimeter, and Konnor will need to play well for us to have a chance to win.”
Key stat: After scoring just 13 points, including two shutouts, over its previous four games, Shoreland erupted for 350 total yards in a 52-6 home win over St. Thomas More last week.
FYI: Both teams are eliminated from postseason contention, but the Pacers are looking to end the season on a two-game winning streak following a six-game slide after a 21-20 non-conference victory over Milwaukee Hamilton in Week 1.
