Shoreland Lutheran at Milwaukee Hamilton
When: 7 tonight
Where: South Stadium (928 W. Becher St., Milwaukee)
Series note: The teams met in Week 1 last season at Shoreland, and Hamilton emerged with a tight 26-21 victory. ... The Wildcats led 12-0 at halftime before the Pacers rallied in the second half but fell short. ... Shoreland rushed for 198 yards on 36 attempts.
Player to watch: Shoreland senior offensive lineman/linebacker Noah Erbe is a highly intelligent kid who scored a 34 on his ACT and, according to Shoreland coach Paul Huebner, is passionate about engineering. Huebner isn't worried that Erbe will know where to be on the field, but to be a leader he needs to make sure his teammates are in the right places. ... "He's a very intelligent guy," Huebner said. "Noah's kind of the guy who needs to communicate well and put guys in the right spots. It'll be interesting to see how well he communicates his knowledge to his teammates. ... Can you make sure that the other 10 guys are all on board?"
Key stat: Shoreland junior receiver/defensive back Konnor Hill got off to a dynamic start in his sophomore season with four TDs in two games, including a 10-yard run in the fourth quarter against Hamilton and two on kickoff returns in Week 2. Hill was lost for the season due to injury in Week 2, however, so the Pacers will be happy to have one of their playmakers back.
FYI: Hamilton, a member of the Milwaukee City Conference Richardson Division, finished 6-4 last season and lost, 56-7, to eventual WIAA Division-1 state champion Muskego in the first round of the playoffs.
