Player to watch: Wilmot senior center Jason Rullman, listed at 6-foot-1, 265 pounds, will be a key up front against a Case defense that blanked Central, 26-0, last week. … “Jason Rullman has put in a lot of work this offseason,” Wilmot coach Keiya Square said. “Case plays a ‘3 front,’ so he will have a player over him the whole game, and as a center that can be hard to deal with sometimes. He has improved with this each week, and we are positive he can anchor our line this week.”
Key stat: The Panthers notched an impressive 21-13 win over Indian Trail in Week 1 at Wilmot, but they’ll be looking to get off to a faster start on offense tonight. Wilmot didn’t gain a first down until 7 minutes, 30 seconds remained in the second quarter against the Hawks. … For the Eagles, junior quarterback Ben Brawner threw for three TDs last week against Central, two to senior receiver Nick Fugiasco.
FYI: These two programs have a vastly different postseason history, as Wilmot has reached the playoffs nine years in a row, while Case hasn’t been there since 1997 and has only three postseason appearances in program history. … Wilmot is 3-3 against Southeast Conference teams over the last four seasons.
