The Bradford girls volleyball team gave coach Kyle Yackley his 400th career win in fitting fashion Monday night.
In a Southeast Conference match at Tremper, the Red Devils rallied from eight points down in the fourth set to close out a 25-22, 21-25, 25-20, 25-22 victory.
Bradford improved to 17-12 overall and 4-2 in the SEC.
“Matches against in-town rivals are always going to be a battle,” Yackley said. “This match wasn’t any different.
“... On a personal level, this was my 400th career win. The fact this team fought so hard to get this means so much to me.”
Leading the Red Devils were Marin Ovitt (16 kills, three aces), Makayla Eckel (14 kills, 10 digs), Grace Hiegert (11 kills, three blocks), Ally Eckel (16 digs, eight aces) and Mallory Malone (34 assists).
Pacing Tremper were McKenzie Cope (13 kills, 17 digs, three aces), Megan Jankowski (10 kills, 11 digs, two aces), Lauren Coshun (four kills, five blocks), Brooke Clements (34 assists, five kills) and Jenna Barrette (28 digs).
“This season has been a roller coaster, but we are improving every set,” Tremper coach Ashley Pecha said. “The team did a great job of playing against the pressure and focusing on our side of the court.
“... We are a young team, but the pieces of our puzzle are coming together.”
